American Council on Education

Wayne Women LEAD (WWL) is the Wayne State University affiliated chapter of the Michigan ACE Women's Network (MI-ACE Women's Network).

We envision an open and just higher education environment in which women and men share their talents and voices equally in management and policymaking to improve the quality of higher education. Therefore, we focus on building a substantial network of women in Michigan higher education by providing leadership, resources, and services such as professional development, networking, partnering with women's networks in other professional fields, and engaging in public advocacy to empower our members to achieve career success and gain a greater voice. ("Our Vision." MI-ACE Women's Network)

As an affiliated chapter of the American Council on Education (ACE) Women's Network, the MI-ACE Women's Network "is committed to identifying, developing, encouraging, advancing, linking, and supporting women in higher education." Our role as a chapter of the MI-ACE Women's Network is to fulfill that commitment by identifying women in leadership at Wayne State University, advancing them through leadership programming, providing an outlet for them to network or link with each other, and supporting them through their journey in leadership. We do this by providing our own programming as well as communicating the resources provided by the MI-ACE Women's Network. WWL focuses on career advocacy, diversity, inclusivity and advancement of women in higher education administration and aspiring leaders.
